Food Allergy Diagnosis – January 2016

There has been a lot of information in the media recently about food allergies. Most of coverage was generated by a report that was commissioned by the federal government and found that many poorly done food allergy tests and misdiagnoses have lead to countless misleading results.

A misdiagnosis done in 25 minutes can have you paying the price for 25 years.

While 30% of Americans think they have food allergies, studies show only about 8% of children and less than 5% of adults actually have food allergies.

Thanks to research and the recent food allergy report, there is a now a movement underway to bring order to food allergy testing. We think it’s about time. For more than 50 years, the food allergy doctors at Allergy & Asthma Specialists have been on the frontline with the best diagnostic procedures because we are board certified allergists who have spent our entire careers dedicated to food allergies and other allergic related conditions and their treatment and cure.

We want to see every adult and child in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Hampton Roads diagnosed correctly.
