FDA Update on Zantac/Ranitidine
SEPTEMBER 13, 2019 - The FDA has learned that some ranitidine medicines, including Zantac, contain a nitrosamine impurity called N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) at low levels. NDMA is classified as a probable human carcinogen (a substance that could cause cancer) based on results from laboratory tests.

The FDA has NOT issued a recall and is not calling for individuals to stop taking Zantac at this time. However, patients with questions or patients who would like some alternative options should call our office at (757) 481-4383. Click here for more details: Zantac/Ranitidine
